If last week was any indication for what's to come over the next couple months, the greater Milwaukee area should really be able to fire the softball season into full gear with some beautiful weather. Four teams that made state tournament appearances last season have combined to win 12 of their first 16 games, including undefeated starts for Division 1 state semifinalist Oak Creek (4-0) and D2 state semifinalist Wisconsin Lutheran (2-0). The greater Milwaukee area hasn't seen a Division 1 state softball champion since Westosha Central's pair of titles in a three-year stretch from 2013-15.
