Wisconsin Philharmonic Shining Stars Scholarship winners announced

WAUKESHA – Each year, the Wisconsin Philharmonic offers its Shining Stars Scholarships to middle and high school students in Waukesha County. The winners of the 2023 scholarships have been chosen. Twelfth-grade violinist Zak Chen of New Berlin Eisenhower High School won the $1,500 Bryant Scholarship Award. Twelfth-grade violinist Sofia Castanho-Bollinger of Bridges Virtual Academy won the $750 Ransome-Kuchler Scholarship Award. Seven students won the $250 Shining Stars Scholarship Award, including: tenth-grade trombonist Owen Ruck of Waukesha West High School, ninth-grade violinist Dakota Lynn Ruebl of Falls Baptist Academy, tenth-grade violinist Jayanth Suthan of Menomonee Falls High School, tenth-grade cellist Lindsey Tomich of Falls Baptist Academy, tenth-grade violinist Hannah Lynn Van Gelderen of Falls Baptist Academy, ninth-grade violist Stephen James Van Gelderen of Falls Baptist Academy, and eleventh-grade violist Sonya Wilhelm of Kettle Moraine School for the Arts.
